Solis Maestro Plus Coffee Grinder Review

The Solis Maestro Plus coffee grinder is the direct replacement for the ever popular Solis Maestro.  Although the original Maestro had it’s fans, there were a lot of complaints too over its seemingly temperamental ability to grind coffee unaided.  Although we hadn’t actually experienced these issues ourselves there are numerous reports on the internet of unhappy people who had purchased the original Solis.

However this is not a review of the old version but one of the Solis Maestro Plus which has been getting amazing comments throughout the coffee world.  Especially when you consider that this is a quality coffee grinder that can produce French press and espresso grinds for just under $200.

The Solis Maestro Plus includes all the good features it’s predecessor had, but also comes equipped worth noticeable differences and obvious improvements that increase the coffee grinder’s intuitive approach to grinding, with simplicity and ease of use present throughout.

The major improvements of The Solis Maestro Plus amount to the grinder weighing approximately double that of the original Maestro.  This gives the grinder a very robust feel and improves stability greatly.

Amazingly the Solis Maestro Plus also has a thirty percent increased grind than the original.  So, if you just love to make espresso or French press you’ll find the Solis Plus more than capable of producing an impressive grind that suites your personal taste.

Also, the amount of grinding functions has been ramped-up massively.  You may be surprised to learn that the new Solis Plus has a mind-blowing 40 presets that ultimately result in an enormous range of grinds.  We believe you will be hard-pushed to find a coffee grinder with this many grinding options in this price range anywhere else.

The Solis Maestro Plus is easy to dismantle and therefore easy to clean.  There is a plastic adjusting mechanism that is responsible for holding the coffee grinder’s burr in place.  Although by no means the strongest looking design we’ve seen it appears adequately strong enough to cope with a coffee enthusiasts requirements.

The Solis Plus is reasonably quiet too thanks largely to its high geared motor and slower rotating speed.  Apart from your ears thanking you, you’ll also be glad of the low amounts of static the Solis Plus produces which in turn generally means less mess when cleaning.

We would recommend the Solis Maestro Plus to any coffee lover looking for a good upgrade from a blade or cheap burr grinder.  We feel for the price the Solis Plus is a great coffee grinder that is hard to beat.
