Capresso Infinity Conical Burr Coffee Grinder Review

There’s no denying it, Capresso make excellent coffee grinders and we were obviously delighted to get our hands on their highly touted infinity model and put it through it’s paces.

The Capresso Infinity Conical Burr is a built-to-last grade coffee grinder that can accommodate up 8 – ½ ounces of coffee beans at any one time.  Making it an ideal choice for larger coffee beans and of course if you are serving to a crowd of coffee loving people.

What we liked right from the start was the copious amount of functions and features that the Capresso Infinity Conical Burr comes equipped with.  There are a total of sixteen varying settings that are intelligently split amongst four main functions.

The Capresso Infinity Conical Burr let’s you choose between the exact grind of coffee depending on your preference.  You can select from Coarse, Regular, Fine and Extra Fine.

We especially liked to extra fine setting of the Capresso Infinity Conical Burr coffee grinder as it allowed us to prepare some Turkish coffee, which as any coffer lover knows is a very rare feature to find on a coffee grinder at any price.  So well done Capresso!, top marks for that.

You’ll also find a built in self timer which will grind your choice of coffee anywhere between five and sixty seconds.  This essentially means you’ll be able to ‘fire-and-forget’ and do something else while the Capresso goes to work.  This makes for a refreshing change from other models where you have to stand and keep your finger on a button to complete the grinding process.

The Capresso Infinity has a sophisticated conical burr design that is constructed from high quality steel usually only found on commercial coffee grinders costing twice as much. This unique conical burr design allows the Infinity to operate at very slow speeds, thereby reducing the amount of friction, which in turn reduces the amount of heat, which in turn preserves the great taste and aroma of the coffee that the Capresso Infinity undoubtedly produces.

Other features that we liked about the Capresso Infinity Conical Burr coffee grinder was that it can hold an impressive 4 ounces of coffee grounds that remain tightly sealed whilst grinding.  This is likely an attempt to limit air exposure and degradation of the coffee as much as possible.

Also worth mentioning, is that you will need to ensure that the Capresso Infinity’s coffee bean container is fully ‘locked’ before the conical burr grinder will operator.  This is an obvious safety precaution and a welcome feature, especially if you have little ones running around?

Cleaning the Capresso Infinity Conical Burr is a breeze.  Thankfully the coffee bean container and the top conical burr release easily, meaning you have full access to the main grinding compartment.  Capresso also provide you with a handy cleaning brush, so there’s no excuses for not keeping the Infinity in tip-top-condition.
